Why this name?
It was something that the streets named me. They say I got that "crack" and the name "Crillz" derives from it.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Most people have critized the revolution of the MP3. Yes, we have seen a rapid decrease in albums sales. But I feel you have to embrace and evolve w/ technology or else find a new hustle.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course, who wouldn't want national or international exposure. It's great feeling when somebody compliments my work. Why not share it w/ the rest of the world. What you put in is what you get out.
Your influences?
Timberland, DJ Premier, Dr. Dre, Just Blaze, Havoc, Quincy Jones, Russell Simmons, Michael Jackson, Nas, Jay-Z, Big, Pac, Krs-One, Epmd, Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap, Phil Collins, and any great artist who ever made great music that inspired me to carry on tradtion.
