NEWS   Currently working with a second guitar player, Chris Tartar. Chris is a very talented technical guitarist, and we think he will make a great addition to the band. Stay tuned to see how it goes.

We rock!! And every once in a while, we roll.
Why this name?
We liked Fulcrum as a name, but it was taken. So we became Fulkrum. Plus it shows off our awesome spelling ability.
Do you play live?
Yes. Wherever we can. We love to play live, that's the whole point of being in an original band. We have special moments every time a fan says they can't wait to hear us again.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives the independents control of their own destiny in music. With a little hard work, you can make a name for yourself, and not have to give all YOUR money to some record label that will dump you the minute you sell less than they think you should. Unless the major labels drastically change the way they do business, they will be extinct in 10 years. And I say good riddance. No more will we be force fed crappy music. The internet gives you the power to find music you actually like.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
HELL NO!! Our drummer and I run our own label (GMP Records), and we don't need a major label. We're not playing to get famous, we play because we want/have to. All a major label would do is try to control everything we do. f*** THAT!! We determine how many shows we want to do a year, we determine what we charge for our music, we determine what we charge for merchandise. Call me a control freak, but at least I have control.
Band History:
Fulkrum is a 3 piece rock band hailing from Lake Jackson, TX. The band started with founding members; Jay singing and playing guitar, and Hawke playing drums. The two started writing songs, and decided to add a second guitarist, and a bass player. This resulted in Stevo joining on lead guitar, and Rick joining up to play bass.

The band started playing at different venues around the area, and began to build a following. After several months of non-stop writing, and playing, Rick decided to pursue other interests. This opened the door for Jay to take over on bass. With the band firmly solidified once again, they began to write and play out once again. The first EP, called "Suicydal Payne", was released in late 2006. It garnered some initial interest from a few independent labels, but the band decided to go it themselves, and formed GMP Records to release their own music. The band is currently recording it's second release, an EP tentatively titled "Finish What You Started"

We're not picky. If it sounds good, we'll use it. We use BC Rich, Jackson, Gibson, Hamer, and Dean guitars. Line 6, Carvin, Peavey, and Marshall amps. Tama drums, and Shure microphones. D'addario strings, Clayton picks, and whatever cords happen to be at our feet.
Anything else...?
There was a man who had worked his whole life in a pickle factory. One day he came home and told his wife that he had been fired from his job. She began to scream and yell, "You have given them twenty years of devoted service. Why did they fire you?"

"For twenty years I've wanted to stick my pecker in the pickle slicer," he explained, "and today I finally did it!"

The wife ran over and pulled his pants down to see what damage had been done. "You look okay" she said with a sigh of relief. "So what happened to the pickle slicer?"

"Well," he said with hesitation, "they fired her, too."
