Once, when I was a little kid, my friends and I found a baby bird in the middle of the road. It looked like it could use some help, so we put it in a box, took it home and began nursing it back to health (feeding it worms and candy, and whatever else we thought a baby bird might think is good to eat.) About a week later though, the whole situation began to seem a little tiresome, so we put it back in the box, then placed it in the road where we had originally found it, and ran our bikes over it. In retrospect, I wish I hadn't done that.
