Why this name?
I was originally using a name that I found another MC already had..so given my creative mind and my likeness for word play I decided to go with Specyal T because 1) Specialty means unique or different and I definitely have a one-of-a-kind sound and 2) T is my first name initial.
Do you play live?
I do play live..I've performed everywhere from schools to churches collectively to date in my 20+ year career, I have performed in 170+ shows as a solo instrumentalist (piano & trombone) ensemble (Trombone, Caxia & Steel Pan) in a band "Hidden Agenda" (Keyboards & Vocals) as Specyal T (rapping & singing) ...I love performing live there's no feeling like it. I have to say my favorite moment in my career to date was getting picked to play at the ACC (Air Canada Centre) in downtown Toronto with the Samba Squad. (best Brazillian Band around!) I've watched countless concerts there and to actually get the opportunity to play there live and get paid for it was unbelievable!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Possibly if the deal fully worked for me.
