The colorfully chaotic sound was cultivated in isolated Leesburg, Texas which consists of a local store and flashing light to slow down the occasional pick up truck passing through. The Jungle Gym spark ignited when vocalist/keyboardist Brian McNutt quit his job as an officer at the Texas Department of Correctional Facilities in Huntsville, TX where he was drawn into intimate conversations with Death Row inmates while serving them their “last meal”. He then returned to his hometown and began cathartically penning lyrics and exchanging recordings with his younger brother and Psyllo guitarist Dylan. After Psyllo’s lead vocalist disbanded for college Dylan along with band mates and longtime friends bassist Jay Crocker and drummer Andy Long united with Brian to forge Jungle Gym.
