A boy from Bergen, Norway, playing home-made songs in his little studio in his bedroom, which is mainly a computer, guitar, a drum and a microphone, and the occational toy-organ. Its sort of lofi-pop, but Herr Nilsson also likes country and folk as well as alternative pop-rock. Actually he likes all kinds of music, he doesnt hate anything or anyone at all. So there you go.
Why this name?
Because its nearly my real name. Herr Nilsson is also the monkey in Pippi Langstrømpe, but I dont care about that.
Do you play live?
Yup, I play live every now and then (mostly at private parties). And yes I like it. Does the audience like it? I haven`t got a clue. I am rehersing with a full band though.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It has created a new community, which is nice. I think its all good.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I dont like major labels.
Band History:
Not much to say here really. I started in 2002 playing songs into my computer. At first they were crap, but eventually some of them turned out to be damn good. Which is why I bother to post them on the web. Have been played on local Student Radio in Bergen, and have joined Galant Records (a tiny tiny little record company in Bergen) for their release of the compalition "No more hifi". Its gonna be a great, great record with a lot of super artists.
Your influences?
Wilco, Jim O`rourke, Neutral Milk Hotel, Håkan Hellstrøm, Primal Scream, The Beta Band, Beatles, Velvet Underground, Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, and also a lot of country and blues. I also get inspired by other great unsigned demo-bands - for instant ROLLS, Pamfilius, Professor Pez, Lofi man and Magnus Hirschfeldt.
Favorite spot?
Nordnes, a place in Bergen.
Equipment used:
An old computer, a crappy keyboard, an acoustic guitar, my fathers trumpet and a harmonica.
