SlawDog was created in 2006 as a project by guitarist/singer/songwriter Mike O'Riley. There have been many line-up changes in SlawDog's short history, but the message remains the same: use rockin' music to let people know about our awesome Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
Why this name?
So why name a band 'SlawDog'? It was one of those names that just came to me and wouldn't leave. The more I thought about it, the more it made sense. We serve a diverse, creative God. Just look around you. It's easy to take it for granted sometimes, but His creation is just amazing! Also incredible is God's ability to be diverse, and never boring. He brings together people and situations daily. Sometimes it makes sense, sometimes it doesn't. We just need to have faith that we serve an awesome God that is always in control. The important thing is to stay immersed in his Word (The Bible) and always try to let his will be done through you.
So, sometimes life is like a 'SlawDog'. A couple of things brought together that don't seem to make sense, but somehow it all works out!

Do you play live?
SlawDog has been blessed to play many gigs over the past year around Central Ohio and beyond. We love the opportunity to get out and play live!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Possibly, after much prayerful consideration. I would really have to be sure that it was God's will for me to move in that direction.
Band History:
Exciting stuff has been happening in 'SlawDog Land'! The Lord has seen it fit to bring together SlawDog with our brothers from The Sweet Salvation to perform live together. The result is a really uplifting, exciting show with the best of SlawDog originals existing side-by-side with great Sweet Salvation originals! We also throw a couple of fun covers into the mix. The first experiment with this new concept was on a Saturday night at The Harvest Moon in Canal Winchester, and the reaction from band and listeners alike was great, so let's keep it rollin'!
Your influences?
First and foremost, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Musically, everything from Faces, Rolling Stones, Cheap Trick and Rush, to Chris Tomlin, David Crowder, Relient K and MXPX.
