In short: anything goes for the members of Sole Remains. Of course under the condition that the majority of the band members involved in the composition agree with the arrangements of the instruments and the music. We surely would not like to constrain ourselves to a certain style but because of our current lineup were already pushed in a certain direction. Were actually a metal band so most of our songs will be categorized under that header. So if youre looking for a metal band for an idea of yours you shouldnt hesitate to contact us. We do expect that the music answers to certain musical and technical demands. These demands are mostly based upon the explanation why you would place a certain part at a certain position in a song. It should always improve the composition in its whole or partially. The exception would be the artistic explanation if its thoroughly grounded. Are you unsure of the meaning of this text? Why this name?
It just came to us ;)
Do you play live?
Yes, wherever we can, very much, some.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Do we need this debate? If I like a cd I buy it. mp3's offer a chance to listen to a whole cd before making a decision.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
At this point, probably ;)
Band History:
Sole Remains started of in a dusty garage in the summer of 1998. The band still nameless had two members: a drummer Kevin Driesmans and a guitarist Jean-Paul. The rehearsals were mostly jam sessions in which they perfected their techniques. The guitarist Danil and the bassist Rembert Tevenie Joined the growing band about eight months later. With the purchase of a P.A. the first songs Silent Tear and Dark Side where written. In the years to come Sole Remains devoured 4 bassists, 2 guitarists and finally their first drummer leaves the band. He was replaced in 2002 by Zsolt. In 2004-2005 keyboard player Dario and guitar player Luca joined the band. Lastly in 2006 Sole Remains was joined by Michiel playing bass forming todays lineup with the first two guitarists.
