I'm 19. I'm from Virginia. I'm going to school in Connecticut. I like playing guitar. I like the blues. I like obscure Bob Dylan songs. I like beer. I kinda like you, too. If you'd like to waste several minutes of your day listening to my mediocre musicianship, this is the place where you can do that.
Why this name?
It's my name. Actually, my full name is Benjamin Huston Saturninus Donovan, but that's a little long.
Yes, I sh*** you not. My middle name is Saturninus.

Do you play live?
It's hard to play dead. I mean, unless you're, like, Tupac. He seems to be able to do that.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Personally, I find it very convenient that I can get my music and my porn on the same machine.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Does the Pope sh*** in the woods?
That may have been rather cryptic. The answer is yes.

Band History:
I've been playing guitar for a few years, just picked up harmonica recently. I play at coffee houses and bars, basically any place that will listen to my shit.
Your influences?
Probably my single biggest influence would be Bob Dylan. I love his early stuff especially...the stuff he did before he went electric. My first real performances ever were Dylan covers. I like other folk singers too, like Phil Ochs, Dave van Ronk, Leadbelly, Joan Baez, Arlo Guthrie (and Woody too)...stuff like that. I also draw a lot from '60s blues-rock--Jimi Hendrix especially--and earlier blues singers like Muddy Waters.
I'm also a big fan of anybody from contemporary music who tries to combine the old with the new. Dan Bern, Against Me!, Old Crow Medicine Show, Drive-By Truckers, Blind Melon, and anybody else who tries to make folk music relevant--you've got my respect.

Favorite spot?
Well, I've only played around Washington, DC, and Fairfield. CT, so those are the only two scenes I know. Stacy's Coffee House, in Falls Church, Virginia, has a special place in my heart since it's the first place I played. Great bunch of people there, and great coffee as well. Beyond that, Tiffany Tavern in Alexandria, Virginia, is fantastic. In Connecticut, I've only really performed at the Las Vetas Lounge in Fairfield. They've been kind as all hell to me there; I'll never forget that place. Stop in there if you get a chance--lord knows they deserve it.
Equipment used:
A Martin D-16GT Dreadnought acoustic, Hohner harmonicas, and a Phil Ochs songbook that went out of print before I was born.
