I have been making music on and off for about 2 and a half years.Initially I started with Ejay and sample discs which helped to learn a little about arrangement. But after a while I became bored with using other peoples samples and decided to try and create my own tunes from scratch. This is when I bought Fruityloops and I have been using Fruity for the past 18 months or so along with a number of VST's
At first it was very difficult but I can see myself improving all the time. The hardest task I have found especially in trance is getting the sound spot on but I guess this does not come overnight.
I do have some way to go yet,but I feel my tunes are catchy and listenable and I know some of you enjoy them.
My latest track which is a remix of my track Journey to Zephyna is the best produced so far although I did have a little help but I have sent it off to various DJ's etc and it has been used to promote trance nights via local radio stations and has been played in quite a few clubs which is a first for me and is what is making me want to continue with making music.
Why this name?
Its just a shortened version of my surname and is what my wife used to call me before she fired me off
Sad I know
Do you play live?
No apart from in my apartment to myself where I always get a favourable reaction
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It allows poeople like myself to get their music heard which would have been impossible 10 years ago. Also the internet allows you to meet many like minded people which enables you to exchange ideas and tips and so learn more about music production which is a great help especially for somebody like me with no musical training.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes
Your influences?
Mauro Farina,Micael Van der Kuy(Old HiNRG producers),Armin,Ferry Corsten,Mauro Picotto,Vincent De Moor,Airscape,Delerium, and also lots of chill out stuff and some classical stuff.
Favorite spot?
Florida,Portugal,Bolton(where I live)
Equipment used:
Fruityloops for sequencing,Various plugins eg Triangle2,Simsynth,Vanguard,FM7,Ni Pro 53
Anything else...?
I make music primarily for a bit of fun and for myself but if people like it then great if not I am not too bothered.
