we got it off the disney cartoon "recess". there is an episode where a new kid comes to the school from Sweden or something like that. Anyway, the kid turns out to be really good at pole ball and just cool by nature so all the kids on the playground called him "the hotkid". i liked it and thought it would work since that is what we do(we make it hot kid), so i suggested it to jstew and he liked it right off so we settled on it.

it makes artists work harder for their fans' support. at least it should i think. just like anything else, when abused it's definitely a negative but if more artists and labels focused more energy on putting out quality cd's then people wouldn't mind so much buying them. the web has provided the consumer a preview channel. if i only find one song i like off of a 15 song cd believe i promise i won't buy it. i wouldn't even download it.

of course, why wouldn't we?
