Originally, I was in a group named Texas Tag Team. It was a partnership, but we had to split since I moved up to Kansas for college. I am Airen when I'm solo.
Why this name?
I knew I wanted to have people say my name, but I wanted it spelled different. It was spelled Airr'in at first to say I was about to hit the radio, but eventually revised itself as AIREN.
Do you play live?
No, not currently, but I have performed at small talent shows. Nothing to brag about though.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Yeah, you can expand you music to more than just your home city.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yeah most definitely.
Your influences?
I was in percussion from 6th to 12th grade so what you'll hear when I rap on an original beat is drumline-influenced. My lyrics are greatly influenced by Kanye West and Lil' Wayne who I call "Riddle Rappers" simply because what they say makes you think for a minute. Though I can't sing,yet, I'm working on it.
Favorite spot?
My favorite spot is the den of my home. I have two computers set up full of music to release after a day.
Equipment used:
I use a Mac and Dell. Programs I use are fruity loops and reason.
