Band History:
BRIEF HISTORY OF L.A.W. RECORDZ-BUKID ENTERTAINMENT

Rap, undeniably, is a genre of music if not unknown to the people, is not pleasing to their ears. In 1997, a young man at the age of 13 named, Paolo Garcinez a.k.a M.C.Scratch, “circumnavigated” the beauty of the said music and discovered the same as not only something that you would listen to but a powerful tool to convey and express ideas, most especially emotions. With this, he learned how to write his own masterpieces and his friends were his first fans with whom he taught the art.

For the love of hip-hop, he tried to introduce the music to others by performing in different occasions such as barangay fiestas, school activities, gatherings, and the like. As foreseeable, the music was not favored by many in the north. He gained nothing but laughter from people who witnessed and heard his music. However, these experiences did not hinder him to continue pursuing his dreams that someday the music will boost.

On April 18, 2002, the very first rap festival was held in the north at Gayyem Entertainment Complex where Salbakuta, Jawtee, DJ Cokie, Nastymac, Razzamanazz, and Innocentes of Dongalo Wreckords were the guest artists. On the same occasion, there was a freestyle rap contest where M.C.Scratch won by reason of the absence of any opponent. This clearly implies the fact that there were no rappers yet. In early 2004, two different rap shows were organized with 9MM and Kamandag ng Marikina of Rappublic of the Philippines as the special guests. Nonetheless, the said organized events opened the door for people, most especially the youth to track the path of “rap music” and to awaken the inner talents that some have. Consequently, rappers arose… rappers emerged!

On April 2004, a very significant scenario transpired where youthful Ilocano rappers sat together and agreed to form a sort of brotherhood to embrace solidly the world of hip-hop. They were originally called SUGO NI LAM-ANG. Time passed and they unanimously concurred to change their name into something that would sound like a group that possesses power and authority. Thus, from then, they were called LAW (Lam-Ang Warriorz)!!! The name still has the sweet ingredient of being proud of their Ilocano race since Lam-ang is the Ilocano epic. The original members were M.C.Scratch, RBK, Anno Domini, Filthy, K.E, Virus, Mandy, Jaypee, J-pistol, Langib, Thugclan, Phoenix, East Kwaterz, Edge, and Serial killersz. However, it was inevitable that some did not maintain their feet on the ground and wanted to take control of the group. With this, LAW almost experienced its downfall. Fortunately, before their crusade totally shattered into pieces, the group acknowledged the truth that each member should not consider any leaders and should find themselves co-equal to each other because Lam-ang (their Ilocano blood) is the only superior element over them. To further govern their brotherhood smoothly, they came up with an all encompassing doctrine: ONENESS, EQUALITY, and RESPECT. This principle that they consider sacred is the same factor inculcated into the minds of each member and which they imperatively practice. Since then, LAW performed in different places in the north trying to spread the word of how wonderful the music of rap is and trying to show the inherent talents they have. At present, though some members became busy with their own lives, nevertheless, most if not all, still believe that the blood of Lam-ang flows into their veins. The group has almost 200 members now from La Union and Baguio and they are still continuing their journey to the gate of their humble dream of fame!
