From early childhood church music has dominated my life and I am grateful for its influence. In my high school years I discovered the contemporary sound and was drawn to its energy and emotion. My music is the product of merging the powerful lyrics of the classic hymns, with brand new melodic context.
Why this name?
This CD is named "re:generation" because it expresses the heart of these re-made hymns. Hymns are timeless in their content, but all generations have a popular sound for music of its day. People have told me that the new melodies for these hymns make them come alive in their content, and give a new emotional expression for their message.
Do you play live?
Most of what I do musically is in the context of worship at our church. I have the joy of helping to lead the worship at a church in Arvada, CO. I am on staff there and my main responsibility is to craft the worship services on a weekly basis.
