Dizzy O' Brian is a solo artist who attended the Peabody School of Music in Baltimore. He has since played in many different groups from symphonies to new music groups, including his own; The Jabberwocky.
Why this name?
'Dizzy' is a nickname that I had with two separate peer groups in two different schools. (Don't ask.)
Do you play live?
I have performed live many, many times. One of the most memorable was opening for Hunter S. Thompson (God rest his soul) at the Coach House.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It is certainly an important change, since the 'music
industries' (there are more than one) have been inflexible and greedy. If you would like to find out how the 'industries' rips-off its own artists, you can read all the gory details in my blog; www.dizzyobrian.org
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I can still sell merchandise on Ebay or a swap-meet, if i want to, without going $50,000.00 into debt.
Band History:
Yes, the band is somewhat history, I'm afraid.
Your influences?
Phillip Glass, the B52s
Favorite spot?
Baltimore
Equipment used:
A nine iron and sometimes a putter.
Anything else...?
Nope. Getting writer's cramp here.
