Welcome To My Page!
I hope you like what you see and hear, um, here. As an artist, having the ability to upload my music and have others listen to it, and perhaps even give me pointers and encouragement, is so exciting!
Why this name?
Yeah, well...
Do you play live?
I play live as much as I can. Right now my live gigs have been with a band called "Andy Krenz and the Yokefellow" and I am finishing an album with a few friends called "Live Alive"; it's a four song EP with a Latin Pop kind of feel.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Fantastic! Indy music can flourish without the big wigs making it hard.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Nope.
Band History:
Other than the classic high school band stuff, I was one of the members of J.A.M. (Jesus At Midnight) in Kamloops, as well as the bass player for Four Point, a local Christian rock band. I have been teaching Worship class at Kamloops Christian School for the past few years and I now play drums in "Andy Krenz and the Yokefellow" and have started my own Latin - rock group.
Your influences?
My music is somewhat eclectic, but I have a big Rock influence to me (I am still an 80's rocker at heart). I love experimenting with different rhythms, however, and I find myself trying to come up with songs and sounds that are different than what I've already heard, so you will find some Jazz influences, Latin, Progressive Rock influences, Pop, and heavy rock styles. Of course, when I write, I have a concept in mind, and the style should fit the concept, so I don’t experiment for experiment’s sake.
Favorite spot?
Home is nice. Cuba was cool. Mexico is also awesome.
Equipment used:
I use a Yamaha Stage Custom Advantage drum kit, miked with SM57 and 58's and a few AKG mics. My guitars are custom Peaveys', with GK amps, and Taylor Acoustics. I also use an older Korg keyboard. Recording-wise, I use Sonar software through a MOTU Ultralite. A few VST plug-ins later and it sounds like what you hear.
