Why this name?
A Pharaoh literally means the King or Ruler in the Egyptian dynasties. All pharaohs are mysterious in some way or the other, but they still ran an entire civilization for such a long time
Do you play live?
Yeah we do play live, but not much. We've had only two shows till date, both in the city of Jammu, sponsered by the Raja Amar Singh Club in the city. We look forward to playing in some more different cities, which we will in the upcoming days.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet has been a source of distributing music for independent artists and bands, no matter what the drawbacks are. Yes, piracy is the immediate thought that come to mind, but in the long run, Internet happens to be the king of advertising and the perfect media for exposing yourselves to the whole world on a really large scale.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes of course! Why not?

Favorite spot?
The city that never sleeps, the city we all call our home, Mumbai.
Equipment used:
Focusrite Trakmaster Pro Vocal preamp - for the guitars bass and vocals

Roland Td-20 - electronic drum set for recording the drums. We midi'd it into the soundcard and used Drumkit From Hell for the actual samples, the td-20 was just used as the midi triggering device that our drummer played on (cause the actual sounds on the bank suck donkey balls).

Groove Tubes Gt-66 - One of the better pieces of gear, we used it to mic the vocals, acoustic guitars, and some of the samples you hear.
We ran all the audio into the Tascam FW-1804 which firewired into the OS using Logic Pro 7. We used mostly the Logic plug-ins but we had a few other good ones that came in handy. The BBE sonic maximizer is probably the single most valuable plug-in we have, it sounds really good on the master output and can give the mix a lot more warmth. We then quickly ran the mixes through T-Racks 24 which gave the mixes more of a crisp quality and also just brought up all the levels. We’ve also used Traktor DJ, iTunes & Nero Wave Editor.
