Try My Love
Special Blendz is a terrific showband from Chester, PA, featuring four vocalists with amazing harmonies and six wonderful musicians with dynamic arrangements. They play Classic Soul, R&B, Oldies and Originals and perform for concerts, festivals, special events, weddings and anything you can imagine. They just released their first CD: "Something Special" (Cycles of Love), which is available on CD Baby.com, Amazon.com, DegyShop.com, SoundClick and others.
Why this name?
We tried to find a name that suited the beautiful blend of voices and music. We started with Special Blend, but added the "z" for trademark purposes!
Do you play live?
We play live from New England to North Carolina and will soon be going to Georgia and Florida. Some of our highlights include opening for Teena Marie at the Robin Hood Dell East and for Chubby Checker and KC & The Sunshine Band at Penn's Landing, both in the Philadelphia Area. We also played the BBW/Ebony Magazine offline party in Charlotte, NC last spring! Our most special moment was the day our CD finally rolled off the presses!
If you make it big..?
We will be able to make music fulltime if we make it big and that is everyone's dream.......to give up the day jobs!
Band History:
Special Blendz has been together for five years, although many of the vocalists have sung together in one group or another for many years. Most of the group grew up together in Chester,PA, although two members are from the Norristown area.
Most of the group members have performed with nationally know performers, such as Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, Edwin Starr, The Stylistics, The Gapp Band, etc.

Your influences?
Our influences are Classic Soul, R&B,Motown, Top 40, Oldies, The Temptations, The Whispers, The Stylistics and the O'Jays, to name a few!
Favorite spot?
The stage!

We use 5 keyboards, guitars, bass, percussion and drums.

Special Blendz is truly special, and these men really know how to turn the crowd on. They always leave the audience wanting more, and have a great percentage of fans returning to see them again and again.
