humaNERD grew out of hyShok's production imagination. Based in Los Angeles, CA, humaNERD is an Alternative/Experimental HipHop Producer currently working on the Sarcastic Underground LP (The Difference), hyShok's solo LP (PathNotes), a couple of tracks on BrimStone's LP (Shades of Grey), and is currently branching out and working with some East Coast artists coming soon.

Why this name?

Its my personality. I'm a big time nerd. Computers, Internet, Technology, etc...

Do you play live?

Not Yet, still working on it.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

I think it had enabled independent music to be heard by the masses. Independent Musicians CANNOT rely on the radio!!! The radio stations get support (money) from the Major Labels, so they have no incentive to play independent music. Even the so-called independent music they play are usually artists that are already being groomed by the majors. Not that I’m hating, there is definitely a place for commercial music, but there is also a place for independent music, and that place is and has been the internet.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I would seek a major distribution deal, but the terms must be in my favor. Total creativity would be mandatory! The independent hustle is not for the faint of heart, so I rely on my NERD skills to pay the bills, lol..
