hi, my name is gordabega, and i am using the tag 'soundanista' for my songwriting efforts. i have quite a buffet of musical styles in my background, and i think this is the time to develop who "i" am. i've spent too much time devoted to taking orders and not being creative, so my playing style ended up suffering. i hope to turn it back around and have some things that people really enjoy.
Why this name?
i wanted something that sounded tough and mixed with music. i figured soundanista was good.
Do you play live?
i used to play live, and i will again. special moments include playing at the Arrowhead Stadium in kansas city MO, and opening up for Disciple a few years ago. (can we say 'barricade'?)
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
it helps the little people get bigger. kinda levels the playing field for the indie artist.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
yes!
Your influences?
lots of influences. mainly, anything with a melody. barbershop, opera, country, pop rock, reggae, metal... you name it, i can at the very least appreciate it if it's well written.
Favorite spot?
hard to say, wherever the vibe is good and the people are friendly. (and the drinks are cold)
Equipment used:
Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier, (3) ESP guitars, a Yamaha acoustic, a Schecter 5 string bass, Line 6 effects, and pro tools.

i am in love with my wife and kids. i am trying harder every day to be a better man, and in doing so, i hope to write music with substance and not just reconstituted angry man rock. i like chillin with the boys and my new thing is paintball. fun! hope you like what i have to offer, and if you have feedback, don't pull any punches.
