We are "Straight Edge" from Nashville, Tn. "Rock for a Reason!!!" We are a hard rockin' Christian band formed in 2004. With a dual lead guitar assault, bass, and drums, our melodic yet edgy rhythyms provide listeners with an old school to modern contemporary rock and roll style that dazzles the ear and stirs the mind to ponder the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our main objective is to minister hope to the hopeless and point people to the gift of eternal salvation that is offered by Jesus Christ.

Why this name?

We chose the name "Straight Edge" because we write and produce songs that talk about the straight and narrow path but, we use an edge to describe it.

Do you play live?

We love to play festivals, retreats, seminars, youth rallies, churches, and showcase concerts in the southern states region of the US. The only special moments worth mentioning are the ones where we see the Spirit move upon our audience through our music.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

It gives the "artist" some control and ownership of their music and opens doors to places they can be heard and distribute their material that are not offered or supported by major labels anymore. It has put the musical taste of the listener back to the forefront instead of the "cookie-cutting" spoonfed taste of the mainstream record companies. It spotlights and promotes the artist and the songs instead of record sales and bottom line profit margins. It initiates and inspires the creativity and individuality that once made rock music great.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Only if we were led by God to do so.

Band History:

Formed in 2004 as "Walworth & Howell". Recorded debut CD "The Choice" and recieved modest Christian radio airplay with the single "I Still Believe". Toured and supported CD. Were led to follow our hearts and write and produce heavier guitar driven rock music and now have become a full fledged Christian ROCK band with a new CD to be produced very soon.

Your influences?

Any well produced , tasteful 70's, 80's, 90's guitar based rock bands.

Home, Nashville (family and friends)

Marshall, Line 6, Hartke amplification. Mapex, Roland drums. Zildgen cymbals. Gibson, Paul Reed Smith, Jackson, Fender electric guitars and basses.
