I play folk and acoustic blues at open mics across the D.C. area.
Why this name?
Uh, yeah...it's my name.
Do you play live?
My main venue is the open mic at Stacy's Coffee House in Falls Church, VA.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The only songs I've ever recorded I recorded on a computer in my basement. I think that technology is good.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes.
Band History:
I ws born in Cleveland, Ohio and ended up in Northern Virginia. I know many songs.
Your influences?
I'm influenced by everything I hear...I really like to listen to "obsolete" records 'cause the songs are good. I also tune into the roots music played on Sundays by WAMU. I'm a big fan of bluegrass, but i don't know anyone who plays banjo. Or mandolin. Or dobro. These instruments are not favored by many of my peers.
Favorite spot?
Stacy's Coffee House
Equipment used:
A guitar. And an asian made harmonica I bought a few years back for five dollars- I put it on a rack to pick and play at the same time.
Anything else...?
All of my recordings are extremely low-fi. One mike, one track, on free open source software.
