I'm a composer, songwriter, and soundscape artist. I write music all the time in a fairly wide range of styles. I'm primarily a guitar player so I tend to approach music and composing from a uniquely guitar oriented (or maybe guitar-centric) point of view, but am broadening my scope to include as many instruments/resources as I can. I find that my background as a guitar player tends to give my music a more unusual direction than many conventional composers, and allows me some flexibility in terms of where I can take the pieces as they evolve.

I like to write and play in a wide variety of styles, so you'll find some of my stuff is very different from other pieces. It can be a little abrupt juxtaposing the various styles on the listener, so proceed with caution. If you hear something that you like, and would like to hear something else in that vein, just let me know and I'll get in touch with you and we'll see if either I have something "in the can" for you, or if I can make something custom for you.
Why this name?
Well, because it's my name....duh.
Do you play live?
I haven't played live in a long time. I've long since lost the appetite for the "band thing". However, I do occasionally do the solo acoustic/vocal thing.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Totally revolutionized the industry. The internet has leveled the playing field for guys like me who no one would ever have known about 10 years ago. It makes it possible for you to even be reading this. Unless I knew your address 10 years ago, I couldn't have reached you.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It would depend, but probably not. I've actually had 2 record deals with some pretty serious "indie" labels. I find the business model to be outdated, and the contract/ownership terms stifling.
Band History:
A long story that probably wouldn't be terribly interesting or relevant to you unless you were there. I've been in and out of various bands for years. While it was valuable to me, let's just say I've had plenty of band experience, and I have found more satisfaction as a composer at this stage of my life. As far as my initial interest in music and guitar, it's all my dad's fault. I grew up listening to him play old Chet Atkins songs on his Fender knock-off hollow body, and I've been hooked ever since. I just love, live, and breathe music.
Your influences?
I am all over the place. A totally incomplete and in no particular order is: Frank Zappa, Al DiMeola, Ozric Tentacles, the Beatles, moe, Primus, NIN/Trent Reznor, Moby, SRV, Steve Vai, Tool, Jeff Beck, Curtis Mayfield, Raging Slab, Steely Dan, Phish, Morphine, Radiohead, U2, Jesu, Ulrich Schnauss, Miles Davis, Motorhead, I could go on and on and on.
Equipment used:
Fender Tex-Mex Fat strat, Fender Mustang III v2, Roland Fantom X6, Takamine Electric/Acoustic 6 string, Yamaha Classical, Epiphone Twelve String, M-Audio Fast Track Pro USB interface, Cakewalk Sonar Platinum /Dimension/Rapture/Z3TA2, Miroslav Philharmonik, Kontakt, Cinematic Studio Strings, Several Soundiron libraries, many more.
