My name is Marcus Gibson and, I have been producing music for 6 years, I started making music off of a small keyboard that I bought from being drawn in by the art of Timberlands work and as by him being a producer hisself. A few years after, I decided to sign to a record label, when I was 19. Now I am searching for my own indepedence with producing my own music how I want to do it, and a way to share it with the world, now being 22 years old.

Why this name?

First of all I stay with a 40 of Old E in my hand, and it became a custom for people to call me 40, so eventually I came up with the name 40cal records (and for those of you who don't know what the "cal" means, it means caliber ).

Do you play live?

I don't play live, I strictly play in my studio. I love working in my studio, I like the environment and at home atmosphere. My special moment as far as music, was when I got signed to TrippleP Records.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

Timberland is one of my biggest influences as far as producing music. Other than that, people who enjoy my music.

Favorite spot?

My favorite city is my city, "Las Vegas".

Equipment used:

I use Sonar 4, linked up with Pro Tools, for recording. I use a kord triton as a midi control. I use 6 sound modules.
