KC BEATS
My goal is to partner up and interact with aspiring artists to help them push themselves further into the music game, to get them well known and to give them a unique and distinct sound to give them an advantage going into to the music industry. Welcome KC BEATS, the home of underground instrumentals.
Introduction
The theory here is to BUY LOW AND SELL HIGH, just like in the stock market. How leasing and selling exclusive rights works
Leasing Rights
You will receive an encoded MP3 file of the untagged song, and/or a copy of the raw WAV file. The song file can be delivered digitally or through the mail on a CD.Leasing rights allow you to use the beat (or song) for ONE commercial recording or broadcast. This recording can then be distributed at your price for up to 2,000 copies. Selling more than 2,000 copies means you must acquire a new lease or exclusive rights.
You may also use the beat for non-profit promotional use or demos. You have full rights to record, alter, mix the beat/song in any shape, way, or form (except reselling the beat). You will receive a contract in the mail granting you non-exclusive rights to the beat. In the event that someone buys exclusive rights to the beat you have leased, your rights shall stand and the beat is still yours to use. You may also acquire new leasing rights if you sell more than 2,000 copies since your contract predates exclusive sale. The seller will not receive a royalty from the sale of records or downloads. You must however give full credit to the seller (artist and/or producer name) on all commercial recordings. Upon purchasing leasing rights, the seller still owns the beat(s) and the seller is able to resell the beat(s) to any other party until exclusive rights have been purchased.
Exclusive Rights
You will receive a MP3 file of the beat (or song), untagged (free of soundmarks) and/or a copy of the raw WAV file. The song file can be delivered digitally or through the mail on a CD. Exclusive rights grant you unlimited commercial recordings and broadcasts. You have full rights to record, alter, mix the beat/song in any shape, way, or form (except reselling the beat). You will receive a contract in the mail granting you exclusive rights to the beat. You own the recording as a "work made for hire". The original seller may no longer lease or sell the beat/song, except for prior leasing rights holders and his/her own promotional page (no downloads there). The seller will not receive a royalty from the sale of records or downloads.
You must however give full credit to the seller (artist and/or producer name) on all commercial recordings.
Note: All non-exclusive beats are leased for $30-50. Also, join the mailing list to be notified when a new song is uploaded.
Music Perspective
Then there is the music side, because not everyone is here to buy music which is perfectly fine, lots just like to listen to it. I mean that is the point of soundclick right? It brings together and connects musicians all over the world. If that's the case feel free to listen to the songs on the mp3 page and leave comments if you like to..
I just try and have a different style from everyone, you know use chords and scales that are a little different from the norm (I.E. Harmonic minor, mixolydian, Locrian, melodic minor, perfect fifths etc.). Nonetheless, I use that in combination with hard punchy kicks (compressor and limiter usage) and snares that, well sound like "smacks" usually Equed in the mid to high frequencies. I try to reverberate strings and melodies to create an ambient effect and then try to take advantage of the stereo field. Ultimately, my goal is to create a mixdown that surprises the listener (in a good way) and that's warm and smooth with that analog saturation to it.
Anyways, enough with the tech talk, what I want to give you ultimately is to show you and display my love of creating music and my love of music itself. It is said that the "Mozart Effect" of music is that it heals the body and strengthens the mind creating a spacio temporal reasoning. I think we can all agree on this because a lot of individuals who have gone through hardship have turned to music to heal their mind and body. But this is a topic for another day.
Ultimately, I just want to you to enjoy your stay here at "KC beats" I thank everyone for visiting and leaving positive comments; good luck and keep making that music. Stay tuned because alot more of "KC's" beats are coming.
I'll see you around.

I made the track "The death of yourself" which highlights the changes people go through in their life, well that's the mood the song conveys. Anyways a mellow track with open harmony in the mode of mixolydian to add a dominant seventh. I used the stryus generator and a viol soundfont along with Sim Synth generator plug-in and hip bass. Took a while to EQ but that's always worth it in the end. I got another one coming soon, stay in touch. Later.
