Brouge grew up in music and art. Discovering his vocals in middle school and learning piano from his father, Warren Michaels, it was clear Brouge would be musical. Brouge also produces and raps.
Why this name?
My last name is actually Barootjian and in middle school I was called Barooj which sounds like Brouge.
Do you play live?
I never rapped to an audience, only to friends. Most rappers are afraid to show their talentb bit I'll spit in front of anyone. "Bring it."
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Music will never be the same with the internet. WIth the new P2P programs, I honestly don't know how artists get loyalties other than their die hard fans and air time.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I wouldn't think twice about it.
Band History:
I started writing poetry as soon as I knew what words were and learned how to write. It was only until last year of school that I started to write to a beat and actually record. I am now producing and making beats rather than spittin' over the mic.
Your influences?
Warren Michaels, Nas, Eminem and Big.
Favorite spot?
NEW WINDSOR NEW YORK, THE ONLY RAPPER REPPIN'
Equipment used:
I use a casio keyboard for the beats, Audacity, and I like wave lab and I rap over a condensor mic.
