this is a one-man project by myself...i've been playing guitar for around 4 or 5 years now and i have an appreciation for all styles of music, though i prefer to focus on heavy metal and its multitude of sub-genres...when you listen to my songs, you can expect to hear lots of layering and melodicism in addition to heaviness, but i try to distance myself from the sounds of most metal/core bands today as much as i can while remaining accessible
Why this name?
my real name sounded lame, so some thinking led to the creation of the chris catharsis alias
Do you play live?
haven't gotten the chance to play my material live yet because i don't have a band
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
it makes it possible for musicians such as myself to get other people to listen to their music, which then leads to feedback that will help them to improve as artists
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
not if they tried to limit me or my sound to the lowest common denominator
