GIF DA VET is one of Washington DC’s most highly sought after underground producers. He specializes in creating unique melodies that craft his Hip Hop, R&B and Pop genre landscapes. The triple threat began his career in the early 90’s as rapper/songwriter J. Gifted and gained followers when the video for his single “How 2 B A Crook” debuted on Bet’s Rap City.
A reconnection with a childhood friend who at the time was producing for a major label redirected his aspirations into music production. His influences included Erick Sermon, Pete Rock and D.J Premier, but mainly producers from DC who made an impact on the music industry on a national level such as former Murder Inc Records producers Demi- Doc McGhee and Chink Santana as well as former Bad Boy Records go to man Chucky Thompson.
The multi talented producer went on to secure production placements with independent and platinum selling artists. After doing remixes for rapper Mims he gained the attention of singer and songwriter of Bobby V and others Better Vision recording artist Deshara Renee and is currently working with her on her debut opus.
