A gentle heart freely given,
Pierced by the harsh return.
Without sacrifice there is no gain.
The greatest love knows the greatest pain.
In forgiveness lies the hidden jewel.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit:
a broken and a contrite heart,
O God, thou wilt not despise.
Once, I found all either worthless or unattainable. Life was agony, comfort fleeting. I sought my end, not knowing another way.
If God, I'm yours.
If not, god am I,
and I would die.
To my surprise, God is, and he took me unto himself.
Then humble decades of my falling and his lifting. Through each pain a greater gain.
Now, here, I offer free what was given to me. It is small but true, the best I can do. I pray you find some good in it. But ever so much more, I pray you find the good of God. He eagerly reaches to you - even now. There is nothing better.
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
