Aktinide Komplex has existed, in essence, for roughly 6 years. Though under different names and genres, the one thing that has remained constant is it's single member. After playing several live shows and observing genuine appreciation of their music, Aktinide Komplex became determined to get signed and spread their music far and wide. Though still in the process of getting signed, they have endeavored to spread their music using mainly the internet for the time being.
Why this name?
Merriam-Webster defins Actinide as follows: any of the series of elements with increasing atomic numbers that begins with actinium or thorium and ends with lawrencium -- see PERIODIC TABLE table
For all intents and purposes, the name was thought up one day while sitting through an extremely boring Physics class.

Do you play live?
We have played live several times, though never at large and well-known venues. We are in the process of planning more shows at better known locations once the band is better known in the area.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I believe that the internet and the MP3 format have had a most positive effect on the industry in mainly the Industrial and Electro genres. These often free resources enable both the listener and the artist to decide what they like; that feedback is certainly considered by electro labels. In the broadest sense, free-range distribution of music by independent artists hones the Industrial scene to a fine point, separating the glorious from the mundane.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
There aren't really any "major" labels that sign this type of music. Metropolis is the closest an artist in this genre can come to a a"major" label. But yes, I would definitely sign with a label. Music has always been my dream and I've made it my life; who wouldn't want to make a living doing what they love ?
Your influences?
Aktinide Komplex is influenced by many different genres and many different groups. In our music, you can hear elements of early Aggro-tech, modern EBM, classic industrial and even black metal. We refuse to contain ourselves within pre-defined limitations and instead draw from every source possible for inspiration (a quality seen mainly in our lyrical content).
Equipment used:
Aktinide Komplex uses minimal equipment to the end of maximum result, as per insufficient funding to achieve professional sounding audio the conventional way. Our equipment usually revolves around these basics, but changes periodically:
Apple iMac G5 (studio)
Toshiba Satellite laptop (lve performance)
Ableton Live 5.0 (composition, mastering and live performance)
Alesis Micron synthesizer (used minimally for sampling)
Innumerable VSTi's

Anything else...?
Aktinide Komplex would like to express gratitude to the people at Ableton; this software is absolutely amazing! While sound quaility remains an issue for users with inferior hardware (well that would kind of make sense, wouldn't it?) no piece of software out there today can match the ease of use and sound design capabilities of Ableton Live. Also, as far as live performance goes, Ableton cannot be beat; basically, for an all around suite in both studio composition and live performance, the best value for any independent artists dollar is by far Live.
