Why this name?
It's just me, so I really had no choice. LOL, plus I love my name. Alexis is very sexy.. I had to use my real name.
Do you play live?
I love a live performance. I haven't had the chance to do it for millions as of yet, but I have done a few things here and there. I just really love that moment right as you first come on and hear the crowd.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Drastic changes. I think more people are looking to mp3 instead of cd now days.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Hell yeah. That's where the money comes from and it always helps to know that someone is behind you and believes in your talent.
Band History:
Alexis is no newcomer to music. Since the tender age of 5, she has been singing for all. Starting out in her hometown church in Knoxville, Tennessee, she sang with her grandmother wherever someone would listen. After moving to Maryland, she began singing in church choirs and granted solos. At 13 and 14 years old she auditioned and sang in The Children of the Gospel with the Washington Performing Arts Association. She continued her love of music through middle and high school, performing in plays, musicals and talent shows.
______________________________________________________
After graduating she took the backseat and lent her voice for background vocals for local artists. She explored the other side of the business and did promotions for a local radio station and decided to focus on writing and dancing. She took dance classes in college and began to write songs for herself.
______________________________________________________
Theres no denying her voice is her biggest asset and that her confidence and personality sets her apart from the rest. Though shes been compared to Raven Symone and a younger and ambitious Whitney Houston, she remains true to a style all her own.
