Biography of Rapper “Weez”
It all started in 2002 when I did my first live Performance at a friend’s party, soon after that I moved to the U.K traveling for 2 years.
I write my own lyrics, constantly working and learning with an ear to the streets and a big love for underground mix tapes. I soon hooked up with some British mc’s and we did a couple of small gig’s together. In August 2006 I teamed up with an upcoming R&B artist from Nigeria called “Maye”, he liked what I had to offer.
I was in the right place at the right time, we recorded some tracks and all of us liked the outcome. I sent in my demo to 5fm and they added my song “Verbal massacre” to their playlist at the end of December 2006. The song sneaked into the vodacom hi5 @ 5 chart as a new entry at number 20. after couple of weeks it hit the number 1 spot for 2 weeks in a row.
Throughout January I recorded some more tracks in cape-town with a reggae artist called “the white lion”. I write all my lyrics and hooks, sometimes I like bringing in a different voice on the chorus.
I’m Almost finished with my debut album called ‘’get ready’. Watch this space for information on the cd launch. At the moment I’m performing at clubs around s-a.
I’m 23 years old, im currently staying in Pretoria so obviously I’m representing GP!! My mission is to create something new and fresh for the Hip-Hop section in South-Africa, I want to make music that every culture can relate to and the aim is to move the masses internationally.
