What up! DJ S.N.T. in the buildin'! Here you'll hear the profound sounds that i throw down in the lab.
I'm also an artist: Sterlin Saint
You can find me at: www.soundclick.com/sterlinsaint
www.myspace.com/sterlinsnt
Why this name?
DJ S.N.T. actaully came from my rap name. My rap name is Sterlin Saint so i just took the vowels out of Saint, thus S.N.T. I actually DJ so I use DJ S.N.T. as my "stage name" while I DJ.
Do you play live?
I'm a moble DJ, so if someone gives me a gig, i'm there.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Hey, it helps out indie record labels a whole lot. It helps artists cause interest without the help of a major label. But... on the other hand it fills the industry with mediocracy. It's hard for real talent to get noticed.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It all depends on what's in the contract.
Band History:
Started makin' beats when i was 12. I just get better as life goes on. I believe that if you want somethin' done right you gotta do it yourself. As an artist i like to do everythin' myself so i make my beats as well as make remixes for my songs (which will come out later on).
Your influences?
For the most part, my beats, they just come to me randomly. I never really studied beats, patterns would just come to me and i lay down the track.Bu I love mid-90's beats, i'm starting to work on beats that have a similar feel to that. I want to bring the golden age back. NAH MEAN!!!
Favorite spot?
N.E. is where i still be!
Equipment used:
For beats I use Kinetic 2 (a cakewalk program)
2 technics 1200 MKII turntables
Denon dm-100 mixer
Serato
Anything else...?
You won't find any samples here! It's all me. I make my patterns from scratch. There really isn't a way to make completely new patterns now-a-days but i'm sayin' that i don't just take someone elses groove and just loop it. I make my grooves with a key board.
