Been producing music for over 13 years, playing keyboards for 24 years. Then gotten into mcing (check "B-BOYD" soundclick page) and gotten into b-boying, as well as singing sometimes (check "Stevee Strawberry" soundclick page). you can also see all three profiles and check for sneak previews of tracks on myspace. equanim/myspace.com
Why this name?
i was reading books on buddhism and meditation and found that i aspired to have equanimity. i thought the name equanimity sounded a little fruity so i thought shortening it to equanim sounded better.
Do you play live?
i play around the peg city area sometimes. the equanim side of me usually jams on the keyboard/piano during young lungs jams and shows playing improv to improvised dance and poetry often with other musicians. i hope to play out some more in the future combining all my talents into larger more developed shows.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
hopefully improves the quality of music due to competition.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
with a good deal, yeah.
Band History:
have released singles on many balanced records releases. also, released a full length solo album with them called "instrumental language" in 2003 which was nominated for instrumental album of the year with the western canadian music awards. since then i've made a vast supply of material in many directions, some incredibly original and interested pieces. gotten a hell of a lot funkier and fatter on the beats. not really working towards finishing any projects anymore, just putting out fresh tracks for fun and hopefully some money too.
