I am a musician who lives in Plymouth in the UK who mainly sings and plays guitar. I have been known to dabble in electronic music but my passion is with instruments rather than computers.
Why this name?
Umm it's just a Cornish name I use online. It means 'The Smith' in Cornish and is a word synonymous with the Cornish hero Michael Joseph.
Do you play live?
Am looking forward to playing live for the first time this year some time.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet has given so many people access to music it is fantastic. Not necessarily the illegal downloads but the great sounding unsigned bands that would never get listened to otherwise. There's some great talent out there that wouldn't otherwise see the light of day.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Chance would be a fine thing!
Band History:
I played with guitar and other instruments for a while before getting really into it and setting up Virtual Preserve. Those guys have inspired me and spurred me on to get better and expand my ideas about music.
Your influences?
Theres loads of great bands old and new, it is hard to pick any as influences. My music is influenced by whatever I feel like at the time.
Favorite spot?
Kernow
Equipment used:
Guitar, midi keyboard and PC with Cakewalk Sonar plus various bits and pieces.
Anything else...?
I am a Cornish language learner and user and try to use Cornish wherever I can. A few of my tracks is in Cornish and I hope to add to that number over time.
