Rapatron formed in Oakland, CA, in 2002. Both an MC and a crew, Rapatron rocks the genre Cameo coined, electro rap. Originally claiming to be a robot MC crew from the future, Rapatron realized that the voice of crossover from electronic, prog, and punk rock into hip-hop was unique enough. Aligning themselves with post-rock and outsider hip-hop crews, Rapatron plays to a largely indie crowd.
Rapatron has performed countless shows including:
Trans-Am
Har Mar Superstar
Experimental Dental School
Inspector Double Negative
Boom Bip
The Lovemakers
Foreign Legion
Le Flange Du Mal
Fog
CEX
Post Coitus
Run_Return
A shared vision between MC and producers to create a new kind of music that knows its past but is unafraid to forge a unique future. Rapatron is a distinctive voice in the Bay Area music scene. Disparate musical elements merged with a kinetic live set have helped Rapatron set off a local buzz. Rapatron currently operates as a two-person collaboration; MC and a live kit accompanied by laptop beats.
Rapatron is:
Andrew: Vox, Beats, Guitars, RC Robot
Raj Ojha: Drums, Programming, Beats, Synth Bass Face
"When a rocker calls it quits due to group lethargy, its not a bad thing, all things considered (one large consideration being the fact that band apathy typically stems from the band sucking). But when that same rocker decides his new forte will be rapping, as in white rapping, we must pause, ready our throats, and offer loud praise, if just for the sheer hubris exhibited, which is welcome in all areas except politics. Fortunately, Andrew of the excellently titled Rapatron manages to keep us cheering after the novelty wears off (which happens in exactly two minutes). He drops all the right electronic beats, he wears a beard, and he dresses like hes on his way to get a Mission burrito"- Hiya Swanhuyser, SF Weekly
"If you're going to check out the highly evolved electro of Fog and Boom Bip tonight at the Plough, get there early: Local opener Rapatron, aka Andy Seger, will be backed on live drums by his master programmer, Run_Return's Raj Ojha, who just happens to be the best Bay Area drummer you won't see at Yoshi's. Seriously -- the guy has to be bionic, or at least hydroelectric"- Stefanie Kalem, EastBay Express

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
there is a power back in the hands of the musician thing but at the cost of our collective attention spans as well as encouraging singles over albums and that's a little sad. do you know the names of songs anymore? i don't.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
what? you don't like money? it all depends, i have several friends who have been screwed over by major labels- not open to interpretation screwed over- like music career unequivically destroyed. so labels,
