Welcome to the sounds of Beach and Mountain inspired music.
My music portrays life in the natural west coast United States. From Pacific Storms to Kerouac inspired travels, my roots are mainly Hippy Beach Music and wandering street musicians.
Why this name?
Stormkeeper ( original band name) is the name of a beach house I own on the Olympic Coast in the Rain Forest.
It aptly describes my moods.
My Soundclick angle "Ridiculous Dream"?
Isn't life one?
Do you play live?
I have played mainly as a street musician and in Folklife fairs in the town of Santa Cruz, Calif. and in a few gigs with a few others.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It opens up a whole pandemonium of sounds which is neither negative, nor positive. It just lays it straight on the table, like a combo pizza!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Sure, for a six figures deal! Why the hell not?
Or even two figures...
...or even ten cents?
...spare change?
Your influences?
I listen to alot of 70's Prog-Rock and obscure European RIO (Rock in Opposition), and World.
My Favs are early Genesis, Danny Kirwan of early Fleetwood Mac, Anthony Phillips, Robert Wyatt, Steve Hackett, King Crimson, Leo Kotke, John Fahey, Spirit, and Quicksilver Messenger Service. Michael Hedges, some jazz and classical. And let us not forget the great Ren and Stimpy. My own interest is Fingerstyle Guitar and Rhythm Guitar.
Favorite spot?
Big Sur, Santa Cruz, Monterey and Carmel California. Olympic Rain Forest.
Equipment used:
Six string Ovation Guitar, 12 string acoustic/electric Takamine dread. Gibson electric semi-hollow body guitar, Martin Dreadnaught 6 string guitar, Asian Bamboo flute, tabla and tamborine.
I record using Protools 7.0, and utilize Windows Media Player.
Anything else...?
