The sounds of Hypenotica are a natural process in which critical thinking faculties of the mind are bypassed and a type of selective thinking and perception is established.

Although some individuals experience an increase in suggestibility and subjective feelings of an altered state of consciousness, this is not true for everyone. In fact, some indicators and subjective changes can be achieved without relaxation or a lengthy induction.

In fact, recent studies show that by listening to these sounds as loud as possible in extreme conditions may cause the individual to move uncontrollably, and in ways thought unconventional by standard thought. When introduced in such an environment of lights streaming throughout a space occupied by many bodies in motion, it is nearly impossible for any of the participants to withhold from this unequivocable emotion to move.

Welcome, to the state of Hypenotica.
Why this name?
It was actually a combination of comments from friends. After playing some demos for a few people one response was that it sounded "hypnotic", another was "i hate electronica, but this isn't bad" and finally, another friend called me up after hearing from a mutual friend about my music and says "hey, whats all this hype about you making some beats?". So there you have the very long version of how i decided to name the "band"
Do you play live?
I don't do live yet. Haven't got the right equipment for it, not too mention this is more of a creative outlet for me than a money generating production.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Absolutely. If i could get paid to do this that would be very nice.
Band History:
I had been a music junkie all through my adolescence and saw the rise and fall of a lot of different genres, but after listening to a compilation cd from a local store that including the likes of The Chemical Brothers, Orbital, Faithless, The Crystal Method, and many others... I was instantly hooked. I always found music to be my outlet in life, as I'm sure many others do/did... but listening to that cd for the first time took me to a new level of musical discovery. That type of genre had never been big where I lived in Buffalo, NY (the second biggest city in NY state) so there wasnt much exposure to it previously. But, I started to dig for the roots to this type of sound, and became a huge fan of Depeche Mode, INXS, the Smiths, and some other pioneers of the syth sounds.

After I began collecting as much electronic music as possible, I began to see and hear it everywhere. From loops inserted in hip-hop, alternative, metal, and everything else that was on through the late 90's, it occured to me the possibilities of electronic music. From there I tried my hand at a few different forms of music creation... from rock bands, to piano, to vocals, and now to what i think i really always wanted... to be behind the turntables and the keyboard and produce the sounds.
Your influences?
I've been compared to Orbital, Faithless, The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, The Crystal Method, Dave Tipper, Goldfrapp, Deep Dish and a number of others throughout the electronica, big beat, breakbeat and ambient communities.
