Why this name?
RockWell comes from a combination of his last name and a nick name.
Do you play live?
Many artists RockWell works with play their songs live at several different venues. Shows originally started off on Old Dominion University's college campus. Now, the artists perform at additional venues all throughout Virginia.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes
Band History:
Jah Bless and another producer of CDP, Explo, met in the dorms at ODU, and started working together after they found out their shared passion for hip hop. RockWell met them a while later, and started working with them. They all got an apartment together where they set up a studio, and thus began Closed Door Productions, a small label where they produced several projects.
Your influences?
Rockwell's influences:
Timbaland, Mike Shinoda, Dr. Dre, Neptunes,
Scott Storch, Alchemist, Notts, 9th Wonder,
Kanye West (old Kanye), Heat Makers, Manny
Fresh, RZA and all the greats (sorry if I missed
anyone.)
Favorite spot?
The Seven Cities (757), Virginia
Equipment used:
Closed Door Productions uses Pro Tools 7.3 LE for recording and mixing. RockWell uses an old Roland JV-90 (for a controller) and Reason 4.0.
Anything else...?
