Thanks for listening.
Why this name?
I had a funny idea one day that Banyan Trees, with their ever expanding roots and trunks could one day cover the entire world. We would probably have to help them to achieve that, but all the same, I like the idea of a tree world.
Do you play live?
No live gigs now or in the near future. Maybe next year. Technically street playing is a live show, so I guess you can catch me around Oahu within the next 6 months. Hope to see ya.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Artists with low marketing budgets can form massive fanbases thanks to the internet.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If they weren't screwing me, yes.
Your influences?
Extremely varied. I like to mesh many different musical ideas into a song. Basically whatever smacks into my mind, comes out, regardless of whether or not it has a genre, or any specification at all. Its all just sounds to me in its basic form.

As far as actual identifiable influences in my music. You'll hear a lot of things that may sound like Bumblefoot, Steve Vai, Bob Marley, Tommy Emmanuel, Norah Jones, Sting, Nevermore, Dream Theater, Steve Morse, Joe Pass, Blue Man Group, various folk music. Basically, be prepared for anything.
Favorite spot?
Waikiki in Honolulu, HI. As touristy as it is (and I hate toursits), it just hits me with a really great vibe. Mixing together the big city vibe, vacation vibe, and close-to-nature vibe.
One day you can view it as being laid back and calm, the next day it can be a mobbed frenzy, without ever actually changing. Its the kind of place that alters your perception from day to day and keeps life interesting.
Equipment used:
FL Studio run through an Mbox 2 (I hate Pro Tools). Fender Strat, Squier Strat, Ibanez JS100, OLP John Petrucci, Ibanez Acoustic, POD XT Live from Line 6, Radio Shack Keyboard (I think modeled after a Casio), AKG Microphones, EV Microphones, Crate Amplifiers, Marshal Amplifiers, if you are wondering what brand of strings I like on guitar, I like Elixir guage .11, but I happen to have a wide range of strings across my guitars from time to time.
Anything else...?
Enjoy my sometimes soulful, sometimes angry, sometimes stupid or strange music, and remember to live life like YOU want to, and f*** whoever wants your to change. Be who your are.
