Adonaiiis
Why this name?
Adonai is from Greek Mythos Ad-on-a-i-i-is is a play on words pretty much...
How do you say it? add-on-a-yes :) not so tough huh?
Do you play live?
Yep :)
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Mp3? ( I remember years ago long before ipods or portable music players, being asked to help look at new portability and disposability of music, I played with dozens of file formats and mp3 stood out from all the rest because of it's compression qualities...a year later came the players...So why wouldn't I love it? X however, I work with PCM .wav because it is lossless :) yeah i can hear you! (they're Huge)
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes if they're in in for the music and not in it just for the money! oh yes there's lots & lots of Money...However...Not even nothing is for free :)
I am currently in collaboration with Sergiomega with CTS in the Ukraine and I am sure, like CTS that there are some amazing company's out there who are not just out to help themselves and genuinely care about the well being and longevity of a new class of artists...even if some of us do go hungry at least twice a week, it's must be by choice...because I know when the hunger stops so do I!
Band History:
I started singing at the age of five, started writing from the age of twelve...a few yrs ago, Since 2001, i discovered how to record my works and locked myself away to hone my craft, about a hundred and fifty songs later i feel I am ready to make preparations for release of the twelve best songs from the pool of one hundred and fifty...it's a big job. I love to play and sing live however the opportunity to do so doesn't come as often as I would like, so i practice everyday anyway and will continue to do so for the rest of my life.
Your influences?
Okay, I love lots of artists, unfortunately, they are not popular in their real lives they're just ordinary beautiful people...the world knows them as somebody else...I've grown up alot in a very short space of time...I remember the day an understanding hit me...I was not amused, I thought I was dying on the inside! (it was only my delusional ego being melodramatic when I squashed it with logic) :) lol i learned something very cool about myself and about the people around me!
Favorite spot?
Fortitude Valley in Brisbane (Australia's first and only Music Precinct) there is a place i get a coffee from there in Licorice lane...in the late afternoon on weekdays I adore the people of Brisbane City and will always work towards their advancement. the people here are kind and generous, the crime rate is low and the air is clean most days...It's a safe city most of the time, there is a huge mix of people here many holiday to Queensland fall in love with it's natural beauty and never want to leave...it's the kind of place where real magic abounds...Fortitude Valley thumps with the energy of live and recorded music every night! a club packed suburb capable of making anyones wildest dreams come true.
(Shhh! the biggest & best artists on earth sometimes hide out here & stay @ The Stamford wink wink) :P
Equipment used:
Voice and music technology has come a very long way...
Always Remember : "Future communications technologies @ the moment, cannot be discerned or distinguished from magic"
"you can only know what others are prepared to reveal to you!
be kind to those you meet on the way up...
because you will be meeting them on the way up again!
just some cool proverbs i think about...
I use a hp notebook 64bit PC , a korg MS-20, an ASR 10, A Korg Triton Extreme, technics DJ headphones, adobe Audition (aka cool edit pro) A madolin guitar, an acoustic guitar, I'm using custom speakers ( i dont know the specs) I use a sure sm450 microphone... on the run... I use my computer with wavesamples of my work from my instruments and a cheap headset...or I'm working on other peoples stuff.
Anything else...?
there is always something else....isn't there?
Some record labels are run by bad people,
who live the delusion we all owe them a living for nothing!
REMEMBER NOT ALL RECORD LABELS ARE BAD OR MIS-MANAGED OR EXPLOIT PEOPLE WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT sometimes the record companies are in the dark and their associates are to blame and it makes the record label look really bad! There are some awesome honest and wonderful people out there who'll do anything they can to help you if you find yourself in less than honest company! If your entering the field of music/media, leave all your expectations behind, Work real hard at learning your craft! destroy your ego (at least minimise it if you cannot live without it, nobody likes a demanding tart! be a realist) :) practice makes perfect So practice practice practice for some it takes a few weeks...for others it's a whole life's work. the worse thing about being an Artist of any kind is the feeling your waiting for something to happen or someone to show you how...or something? and nobody else can....you gotta dig down real deep to find resolve and keep producing your works...people will hear it...someday...just not today :) so on those "just not today days" keep blowin that trumpet! keep pluckin those strings! keep tickling those ivories...it's the honest truth! that's the trick to it! life has many moments that are only mean't for us, alone, individually, moments that cannot be experienced or seen by anyone else, e.g. a butterfly's kiss. You'll get your moment to shine so back to practice :) Me?
