Thanks for checking me out my name is JW and I'm 20 and a singer/songwriter from Louisiana. I'm just a regular street kat from Baton Rouge who loves making music. Right now I'm just looking for feedback from people who can help me perfect my craft by letting me know on my message board or via email they like my music or if they feel i need to improve in a certain area. Most people see and hear me and compare me to Usher...which isn't a bad thing. I write all the songs I record and I look forward to hearing your comments. THANKS and please leave your email so i can keep you posted on my road to stardom!
Why this name?
Well my artist name derives from my real name. So that's how I came up with J.Wes
Do you play live?
I perform throughout the city. For more details on my next performance contact me via email.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it enhances the industry especially for unsigned and indie artist. It gives us an outlet to reach the masses and get fans and feedback from across the world.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
That's a hard question to answer. I would have to weigh the advantages and disadvantages once that opportunity is presented.
Band History:
For bio information please contact me via email.
Your influences?
Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Donny Hathaway, Marvin Gaye, and my family. I'm influenced by people who are outside the arena of music. I'm inspired by my surrounding. For example I could be walking down the street and see a homeless person and be influenced or motivated to speak with them to draw from their emotions which can then turn into a song called, "Hopeless, Helpless and Homeless". I'm influenced by life!
Favorite spot?
Louisiana! I love the south and the down-home feel of being around people who are still grounded and I hate to say it but in touch with reality, Plain FOLKS.
Anything else...?
I just want to say that I admire anyone who is pursuring their dreams and aspiration. I have a desire to be a singer/songwriter and if I never get heard over the radio or on MTV, I will be happy because I'm doing what I love. So I say to everyone that reads these words, Never give up on your dreams!
