I must say we're not really a band. Well, I should say I'm not really a band. You see, it's just me with my guitar. So everything you hear is me, I wrote the songs, came up with the guitar parts, sing the songs, play the guitar parts, and, well, there's really not much else.
Why this name?
Well, Dark Starlight has just been some sort of a username I've used for a while. I'm thinking of calling myself something else, but, for now, Dark Starlight it is.
Do you play live?
Hmm, well, if you count playing some songs for my friends, then yes. But, otherwise, no. I guess I'd like to but I've never really had the opportunity to.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well, for one, it makes music a lot more accessible. I, personally, am all for the free exchange of mp3s and the like because music should be about music not about making money.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I'm not sure. I wouldn't like to be forced to comply with anyone else's ideas for my music.
Your influences?
These days, I'm mainly into some emo/screamo music. My favorite bands would have to be Bright Eyes, Something Corporate (if only for the song Konstantine), From Autumn To Ashes, Azure Ray, Rilo Kiley, Thursday, My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, The Beautiful Mistake, Desaparecidos, A Static Lullaby, The Postal Service, Death Cab For Cutie, and so very very many others.
Equipment used:
It's just me and my guitar. And a crappy tape recorder. Well, there's also this editing program I have on my computer, but I haven't really been using that as much as I could (and should) be.
