The Uncommon Houseflies began as a father-son project and at the moment is a hobby/side project with the sole pursuit to record fun, melodic and humorous songs. Our first CD is Zombie Clowns Ate Your Sister's Kitty.
Why this name?
The band name goes back to when our bass player was a teen-ager. He came up with the name and thought it was funny and ironic. That's really all there is to it.
Do you play live?
We're rehearsing for a show later this fall, and working on new songs for a new CD for early 2009 release. Special moments? Houseflies never kiss and tell.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
That's obvious -- it gives bands like us a chance to share our music with other like-minded souls.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Find us one that would have us, then we'll talk.
Your influences?
The Beatles, the Young Fresh Fellows, Scruffy the Cat, the Knack, the Romantics, Monty Python, the Monkees, Green Day, Weezer. The list goes on and on.
Favorite spot?
Liverpool, U.K.
Equipment used:
Cheap stuff.
Anything else...?
Our bass player once ate a whole pepperoni pizza by himself.
