i was raised on classical, mozart being my favorite composer. spent my teen years listening to pink floyd and van halen, ignoring the techno pop revolution and the rave scenes entirely. i went through a period of breakbeat exploration from 1998 to 2000, which you'll see some results of here. lately i'm fascinated with more ambient and thematic pieces, returning in some ways to my symphonic roots. i feel another cd brewing this year, but very different music.
Why this name?
i'm a geek and i dig on binary numbers. besides, all the names without numbers have been taken.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
democratization of art. i love it.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
only if they made vague promises of fame and fortune.
Band History:
the band members? i'm it, baby. i was born, i grew up ignoring cheesy syntho music, and now i make it. i think it's the circle of life or something.
Your influences?
earliest would have to be 'switched on bach'. pink floyd, chemical brothers, bjork, fatboy slim, prodigy, garbage. lately, eric serra and vangelis.
Favorite spot?
total tossup between yosemite national park and new orleans.
Equipment used:
i went from pc based to... mac based. currently a mac mini with a few soft synths and a midi keyboard are all i need. for some guitar and vocals, i use a firewire solo.
