Born to perform. Chanes grew up in the streets of New York captured by the music of his generation. Hip Hop was in it's infancy, and was taking over the urban streets. Chanes was surrounded by the beats and the rhyme of tragedy and sorrow. Through his journey from child to artist, Chanes found solace in his words. This was his life. This is his story.
Why this name?
Q: How did you get the name "chanes"?
A: Its actually derives from my last name "chaney". But everyone can either call me chanes, chaneman, or lee chaney. Just don't call me collect!

Currently lining up shows in NYC and with colleges as well. Open for all venues, please contact me for bookings
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think the internet has changed the music industry because it allows users to find different kinds of music. It also helps the little guy to make waves in a tedious industry.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Q: How did you get the name "chanes"?
A: Its actually derives from my last name "chaney". But everyone can either call me chanes, chaneman, or lee chaney. Just don't call me collect!
Q: How old are you if you don't mind me asking?
A: Old enough to drink but too young to collect social security.
Q: Who are your influences?
A: I am most inspired by my parents (both are deceased). They taught me to be disciplined and how to follow my mind when making decisions. Musically I am inspired by any artist who has made themselves marketable!
Q: So you are on an indie label correct?
A: Yes, its actually my own imprint, Halo Hood Entertainment. I'm on the grind right now. So support me ladies and gentlemen of all ages. Also, check for my mixtape coming out and other Halo artists as well real soon.

A: To provide good music to the people. Also to donate a portion of the proceeds to aid with cancer research.
