My 'band' in SoundClick terminology is actually myself, supported by a PC-based home studio, full details of which are given below.
I write, play, sing, record, edit, mix, master...the whole lot!

I also play in a covers band...
a Paris-based outfit covering pop-rock classics dating back to the 50's and playing regular gigs at bars, restaurants, civic events, charity events...

You should find more on both subjects here:
http://thoughtsonsongwriting-mglinert.blogspot.com
Why this name?
The name above...it's my own
Do you play live?
Yes/ Bars, restaurants, civic events, charity events.../ of course / every gig is different, and they each have their moments!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I don't know. You would need insider knowledge of the music industry pre- and post Internet era to answer that one properly.
Band History:
I have been listening to playing music for as long as I can remember. I was subjected to classical piano lessons when I was around 9, but even that didn't put me off (although I gave up the lessons as soon as I could). In all other respects I am entirely self-taught.
Although I have always had fragments of songs, I produced my first finished piece in 2007 (Don't get caught) and have been trying to make up for lost time ever since.
I am a certified Midiot and use this format for most of my music.

I joined an active covers band - Flash Back - in early 2009. We have a wide ranging, albeit rock-based repertoire stretching from the 50s to the 90s. I sing and play synth. We are also starting to build up a small repertoire of self written material.

Plectrums:
Are you kidding?

Final comment: I believe in getting the best from the gear I've got rather than always looking to upgrade. I already spend too much time tinkering around and not enough time actually making music.
Anything else...?
One guy, two guitars, a keypboard, a couple of PC's and over 40 years of listening to pop music.
Thanks to all those who have offered a helping hand, and by that I mean primarily the good folk on the members' forums at PG Music and Audacity.
Oh, and of course SoundClick for giving me this home on the www.
