Hi, I'm Taiyal. I make experimental music using ModPlug Tracker. I used to use FL, but I found its setup made it all the more tempting to create very repetitive and unexciting music (just listen to Teixe! for an example). Why this name?

It is also my internet handle; "Kitsune" is the Japanese word for 'fox', and "Taiyal" was something I made up quite a while ago.

Do you play live?

I haven't done anything live yet but I might for a talent show.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

It only benefits it, and can help unknown artists (like me) to get their music shared with more people.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Never. Record companies work for themselves, and have a detrimental effect on their artists, their listeners, and just about everybody except themselves.

Band History:

Well, I've been writing music since I was 12, but only recently have I had the tools to make decent sounding renderings of my sheet music. Then I progressed to beyond "concert band" type composing, using digital sounds.

Your influences?

Pyromuffin is my first and foremost musical influence. It was he who got me started in the world of making techno. Some of my other musical influences are: Family Farce, Venetian Snares, RAM, Renard, Nobuo Uematsu, Nekomimi Mahoutsukai, The Flashbulb, Hrvatski, TWO-MIX, Naoki, The Beatles, Ravi Shankar, CloverdaleTail, Sam Hui, Herb Alpert, and many others.

Equipment used:

My computer to program the music, but to come up with music, I use my cheapo keyboard.

Anything else...?

I play the Tuba in school band, and I also play Euphonium, Trombone, Alto Sax, Bari Sax, and Xylophone.
