Kurse (aka Rocky Good) is an independent Hip-Hop artist that was born on the South side of Chicago, and spent his early childhood years in a town called Bolingbrook, located right outside of the city. He recently dropped his 4th independent release titled "AWAKE AT NIGHT" under the Anger Manij'ment Entertainment Inc. label, and is now currently piecing together another album that's blue-printed to be his first full-length markertable LP (which at this time remains untitled). His four previous indie releases were "The Recipe 4 Disaster" (2006), "The Shattered Mind" (2007), "Negative Intention" (2008) and ofcourse the latest album, "Awake At Night". At a younger age, Kurse grew up a fan of classic Hip-Hop artists such as 2Pac, Slick Rick & Heavy D. Shortly after serving a light jail sentencing in 2001, Kurse got more involved into the writing of poetry and short songs and later decided to pursue his hobby on a more serious and professional level. Introduced by a cousin, Kurse recorded his very first track in the studios of County House Records in Chicago, but immediately after moved on to do work with a small Indie label called Artein Records. After a rough 6 months over at Artein, Kurse finally left the small label and invested his time and money on his own equipment and educating himself in sound engineering as well as mixing, slowly building up his own lab piece by piece and creating a more polished name for himself. In late 2005 Kurse had his own small studio put together and created a small underground movement called "Anger Manij'ment Entertainment" that swiftly became popular with locals. Many shows, collabs, songs and equipment upgrades later...Kurse finally left the underground scene in Feburary of 2008 and Incorporated Anger Manij'ment into a small business based out of Illinois in order to be chalked up with the rest of the independent labels in the industry, also recreating himself as a Label Owner and Boss for the first time. Even though A.M.E. Inc is a small label, it's now currently the home of seven other indie artists and continues to grow in numbers and popularity.

Why this name?
The name "Kurse" was actually a joke that came to surface while I was locked up. I used to talk to my Godson's mother a few times a week over the payphone, with hopes to pass the time while I was locked up, and one of the things I mentioned to her was that I was having a real shitty month right before I got thrown into county. I told her, "I must be hexed or cursed or sumthin!" And that nobody else seems to have as much bad luck fall upon them all at once quite like I do! Well shortly after that conversation...my Godsons mom started calling me Mr. Cursed. Even after I was out, the name just sort-of stuck and once I got into music, no other name could describe me better than the one my Godson's mom tagged me with. After a while the "Mr." was dropped, and the "ed" at the end was kicked-aside cause it was too "past tense". And for extra spice, I flipped the "C" for a "K" and poof...the 'Kurse' moniker was born.

Do you play live?
Yes...I do partake in live performances throughout the Chicagoland area and surrounding suburbs. I've performed at quite a few places...more than I care to list out. But there's been The Premeire Lounge, Islands Night Club, Saharas, Club Island Groove, Sapphire Nite Club, etc etc. I do enjoy doin it though...gives me a chance to show-boat a lil bit. lol
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think the internet has truely carried artists to the next level. It's hurt us and helped us. It's a double edged sword. For us underground artists lookin for exposure...the internet has done wonders beyond explaination. With sites such as soundclick.com, music.migente.com, purevolume.com, myspace.com, etc etc...we've been able to promote our muzik...our shows...our merchandise for free. We've been able to show the world who we are and what we're made of. Some of us become local celebrities and then some. The modern age of technology has bloomed and created us into more than some of us have even imagined. But why does it hurt us too? Well...not so much the underground artists, but the mainstream ones. With all the illegal downloading and music pirating now or days...it's effected album sales tremendously. Sales have dropped to an all time low because people have been able to get the songs way before the artist even drops an album. Crazy industry and business we're in.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Most def. That's the goal. I've been tryin to contact major labels about what I do. Some successfull contacts...others not. But G-Unit, Shady, Aftermath or Interscope...holla at'cha boi. I'm ready to put in that work.
Band History:
Kurse A.K.A. Mr. Anger Manij'ment is a new upcoming Hip-Hop artist that hails from Chicago's South side. As a production artist and lyricist, Kurse brings a unique style to the table with beats and lyrics that are unorthadox compared to your average Chicago artist. Born as Rock Bueno at Michael Reese Hospital in the heart of the Windy City, Kurse spent his early years growing up in Bolingbrook, IL about 45 minutes West of the city. Shortly after his parents split when he was only 4 years old, he relocated under his mother's custody back to Chicago in the Bridgeport area where he first discovered his appreciation for Rap music. With heavy hitting influences such as Tupac, Big Daddy Kane, Heavy D & Ya Kid K from Technotronic...Kurse's path was now beginning to unfold before him. As his early teens struck, Kurse and his mother relocated to a nicer area in the Southwest burbs. Now living in Lombard, Kurse attended Willowbrook High School ten minutes from home. But by the time he hit 17 he moved out of the house for the first time and began to explore the world around him, not yet knowing where in life he was going.

From this point on...all Kurse did was work in his poetry book, work full-time and party full time. Until in '99, Kurse met someone who kind of guided him in the direction of music and sparked his musical interests right after he graduated high school. Before you knew it, his book of poems was turned in for a book to write songs in. For years Kurse wrote song after song but never had anybody to make music for him. Worse yet, between moving in and out of his mothers house over the years, Kurse technically never owned a computer or laptop for himself, so the idea of having a program to make music was kind of non-existant. Mr. Anger Manij'ment's music was always on the back burner due to the importance of making an income and financially supporting his living situations until the middle of '04. In May of '04, Kurse hooked up with a small group of amature artists in Lombard and began dedicating every Monday night to making music with them. With the 3 of them writing songs and the other two artists producing the tracks...Mr. Manij'ment was really beginning to get his feet wet in the music area and beginning to learn how to work and create tracks using various music programs. Not too long after they released a few tracks to local a DJ for a Hip-Hop remix CD that came out, the trio went their own individual ways to seek their fortunes elsewhere. Come the close of the year, Kurse finally found a way of investing into a laptop and getting his hands on the music programs needed to get the ball rolling. So in Janurary of '05, Mr. Manij reversed the play of things and decided that the music that he had been doing and kept on the back burner for so long...needed to be put to the front. So at that point on, Kurse dedicated full-time hours to working on a debut album and co-producing tracks for other upcoming Chicago artists.
Your influences?
Dr. Dre, Eminem, 50 Cent, Ice Cube, Red & Meth. For the older days though I'd have to say Slick Rick, Big Daddy Kane, Ya Kid K, Heavy D and the Boyz and C & C Muzik Factory.
