Donavan Tucker (Genius The Misfit) was brought up in a small, gritty, urban neighborhood called the Country Club Crest, known for its murder rate and heavy drug trafficing in the early 90's. According to Donavan, the name "Genius" is symbolic of what he wished to achieve as an emcee. He knew that if he gave himself such an ambitious name, it would inspire him to actually live up to it. And the name " Misfit", simply reflected the personality he claims to have carried with him his whole life. Genius The Misfit read every credible Hip Hop magazine that came out, tracked down some of Hip Hop's most classic album's, and feverishly studied them. Among some of the album's studied were Jay-Z's "THE BLUEPRINT", Eminem's "THE MARSHALL MATHERS LP", Nas's "ILLMATIC", and The Notorious B.I.G.'s "READY TO DIE". Genius The Misfit spent 3 years creating what would be his classic debut into the Hip Hop industry. Take the universal appeal of Jay-Z's "The Blueprint, with the superb clever wordplay from Eminem's "The Marshall Mathers Lp", and taking a cue from Nas's "Illmatic", there are 10 tracks, no filler, and no features. At only 20 year's old, Genius The Misfit ready's himself to make Hip Hop history. All of these element's, backed by a story million's will relate to, come together to create a truly original and innovative album the world will soon know as "THE MISFIT". In the meantime, he is putting the finishing touches on what is quite possibly the greatest mixtape ever created. The mixtape is called "TRUTH SERUM", and is due out sometime in early 2007.
